I love reading, writing, learning new languages and making poems out of every little thing. I believe that every story is worth telling, as long as it is told with kindness.

Society seldom cares for the female body unless it is for objectification. So much of media is focused on building unachievable ideals and expectations about female body types, without any actual regard for the people who occupy those bodies. Women are taught to beautify their bodies, but never to respect them. From a very young age, there is a distance between women and their physical bodies because there is so much they are not allowed to learn and understand.

Female reproductive health is one such issue which creates a gap between women and their ability to treasure their bodies. There is a distinct lack of education and discussion about female reproductive health and it is often treated as a taboo topic in many places. Girls are told it is shameful to want to discuss certain changes that happen in their bodies. They are taught to lower their voices and told not to ask any questions. However, such innocence is only innocence for the sake of its name. At the end of the day, it is actually ignorance.

Thus, it is extremely important to teach everyone how to embrace their bodies. Rather than forcing women to groom themselves to fit certain expectations, we must teach them how to acknowledge and explore their bodies, instead. This way, they can cater to their specific needs and can take proper care of themselves.

Today, we are going to focus on one such aspect of female reproductive health: vaginal and vulval cleaning. While we all take baths and other measures to stay hygienic, different body parts have different needs. Your vagina and surrounding vulva are sensitive and might not respond as well to your other cleaning products. Hence, it can be good to have an external vaginal wash at hand, so you can use it safely.

In this article, we are going to tell you about one such female intimate hygiene wash: V Wash Plus. Read on to find out what is V Wash and how to use V Wash step by step!

What is V Wash?

V Wash Plus is a female intimate hygiene product which helps in maintaining the natural pH balance of your vagina and keeping the area clean. It is a clear liquid product, which is extremely gentle on your pubic area, soothing any irritation and leaving a pleasant fragrance behind. It is wash specifically designed to clean your vaginal area safely.

So, why is V Wash Plus more effective than normal soap? Well, the ideal pH range of the vagina is between 3.5 and 4.5. When a vagina has this pH value, it produces a healthy amount of lactic acid, which in turn helps in preventing certain infections.

However, this pH range can get disrupted over time. For example, regular soaps are more alkaline, having a pH value between 8 and 10. So, if used to clean the vaginal region, they might make the area dry and itchy after a while.

V Wash Plus is made with a combination of ingredients which have a pH which compliments the vaginal area. It is to be used to externally only i.e. on the surrounding vulva, not inside the actual vagina. The product is safe to use while on your periods, as well.

However, before using any vaginal washes, it is always good to consult your gynaecologist first. After all, no matter how safe, any product is bound to have chemicals, which might not work the same on all bodies. Each vagina is different and hence, what is effective for one person might to be effective for another. So, always check the ingredients of the product beforehand and ask your gynaecologist if said product is safe for use.

How to use V Wash step by step?

So, now that you know all about V Wash Plus, you might be wondering how to use V Wash step by step, should the need arise. Well, all you need to do is follow these instructions:

V Wash

1. Take a few drops of V Wash Plus on your palm

2. Directly apply it externally over your vagina i.e. over the surrounding vulva. Do not use the product inside your vagina, only in the outer region.

3. Wait for a few seconds, before washing the area thoroughly with plain water.

Make sure to be gentle when rubbing the product over your vulva and while cleaning it. Observe how your body responds to it, so you can understand whether the product makes you feel comfortable or not.

Use it only once during the given day.

Things to remember

The very first thing you need to remember is that V Wash Plus should only be used on the outer region of the vagina and never inside. Your vagina is a self-cleaning organ, which means that it does not need any products to clean it from the inside. So, be careful as to not use anything, be it a wash or soap, inside your vagina.

The second thing that must be remembered is that though V Wash Plus is safe for everyday use, consult your gynaecologist before trying it out. Though vaginal washes may provide comfort, there is usually no need to use them daily. Just plain warm water is enough to keep your vulva clean.

Before using the product properly, take a small amount and apply it over a small region on your vulva to see how it reacts. Your body is unique and might not respond the same to products which are effective for everybody else, which is perfectly okay. The whole point of female reproductive hygiene is to understand and respect the specific needs of your unique body.

You only need to use V Wash Plus once for the given day and you can do so at any time i.e. during your bath etc.

Giving your body the care it deserves

Remember that you do not need to smell flowery and fragrant all over your body. Hygiene is not about being socially attractive, but about being comfortable in your own skin. A lot of female hygiene products target your insecurities, so always remember that you know yourself best.

All bodies are a little awkward, a little gross sometimes and that’s why they are incredible. All bodies are different. Some women have vaginas, some have penises, some have both. You are the only one who gets to decide who you are comfortable being. So, always take hold of your own hand and your own heart when choosing anything. That is the only thing that matters!
