1. Watermelon slush

Watermelon is the king of summers. Rich in water content, watermelon is everyone’s favourite. Why just to eat the watermelon when you can even create a chilled drink out of it. Watermelon slush is amazing to beat the heat and will keep your mind and soul cool. 

Recipe: Take 5cups of diced seedless watermelon, 1 lemon and 2 tablespoons sugar. Blend all the ingredients in a blender and serve in a stylish glass. If you are having it at the end of your day, then a little vodka can also be added to make it a nice cocktail.

2. Jal jeera

Jal jeera is a simple Indian summer drinks that can be prepared at home with jeera and water. Jeera is a natural cooler for summers. It is one of the refreshing summer drinks and is great for digestion and other body functions. Jaljeera is the best option for you to keep it in the fridge in a good quantity and have it all day. This is one of the most popular and loves summer drinks in India.

Recipe: 125gms tamarind pulp, 3tsp mint leaves, ½ tsp ground cumin, ¾ tsp roasted ground cumin, 50gms grated jaggery, 4tsp black salt, 1tsp ginger salt, 3-4 tsp lemon juice, a pinch of chilli powder, ½ tsp garam masala and ½ litre water. Blend all the ingredients in a blender till they get nicely mixed. Chill it in the refrigerator and enjoy whenever thirsty.

3. Buttermilk (chaas)

The very famous and ancient Indian cooler is buttermilk or chaas. It is a simple drink made from curd. It is very healthy and the best summer cooler. It can be made sweet or salty as per taste. Buttermilk is a brilliant digestive drink too. 

Recipe: Take a cup full of curd and add it in a blender. Put a glass full of chilled still water with 1/2tsp roasted cumin powder, rock salt, a pinch of garam masala and chopped mint leaves (optional). Blend it all in a blender for not more than a minute. Serve it immediately.

4. Cucumber cooler

Cucumber is a great source of natural water. It is rich in so many nutrients so a drink made from the cucumber will be equally healthy and refreshing. It has a nice and soothing taste for your noon drink.

Recipe: Take 1 peeled diced cucumber, 8mint leaves, 3cups of water, lime juice according to taste, 3tsp sugar according to taste, ¼ tsp salt, ¼ tsp black pepper, and a few ice cubes. Blend all the ingredients in a blender till it gets all smooth. Strain it through a sieve in a bowl and serve immediately.

5. Lemonade

Lemonade is a common drink that is made in all households. It is refreshing, healthy and loved by all. It is the simplest drink to rejuvenate your body during summers. You can always make your regular lemonade with a twist. 

Recipe: To make a simple lemonade all you need is a few lemons according to taste, sugar, some rock salt and water or soda. Blend all the ingredients together in a blender to make a simple lemonade. To add a twist to it you can add some mint leaves or orange juice or pineapple juice or beetroot juice or any flavour of your choice. Lemonade is a simple drink that can be twisted in so many ways.

6. Iced tea

Iced tea is one of the most commonly consumed beverages in summers. The time when hot tea is not a good option, iced tea fills the requirement of caffeine. It is a simple hydrating drink and an all-time favourite of tea lovers.

Recipe:  All you need is ½ pot of black tea, sugar as per taste, 1 tsp lemon juice and 10 ice cubes. After brewing the tea, let it set till it reaches room temperature. Take a blender and add the freshly brewed tea with other ingredients and blend till nicely mixed. Keep it in the refrigerator and enjoy whenever you are thirsty.

7. Coconut water

What’s summer without coconut water. Coconut water is the perfect summer drink. Not just to keep you hydrated but is nutritious as well. To keep the summer blues away, organic coconut water is the right option. A chilled glass of coconut water to fill you up is what you need in the morning and you are ready to rock the day.

8. Fruit smoothie

Though it is less of a summer drink and more of mini-meal, smoothies is just the right choice for diet conscious and in a hurry people. In the morning when you don’t feel like having a heavy breakfast in hot weather. A glass of smoothie will fill your tummy and will also keep you hydrated and charged up all day long. Smoothie can be made in many ways depending upon your choice of fruits and the essence you like.

Recipe: Collect all the fruits available in your refrigerator and the ones you like. Look out for melons, plums, kiwis, mangoes, berries and which you like. Peel them all and put it in a blender. Add the essence of your choice. Use honey or chia seeds or pumpkin seeds or some lemon juice and some sugar as per taste. Blend it all together till it becomes smooth. Pour it the glass and garnish with some mint leaves. Enjoy and you are good to go.
