Pelvic pain is the pain caused between the belly button and thighs. It is the lower part of your belly or the abdomen. Sometimes, pelvic pain occurs due to minor reasons, whereas sometimes it can be the indicator of a major or more serious issue. 

Pelvic pain when walking can sometimes be out of tolerance. It can affect both men and women, but the causes might differ from person to person.

Menstrual Pain

Menstrual pain or cramps often cause pain to the lower part of your belly or your abdomen. Most commonly reported are the menstrual cramps which start right before the period. This pain generally lasts until the second day in every monthly sequence (menstrual days). 

But sometimes, you can experience it on the third day too. Pelvic pain during menstruation is caused due to the contraction of the uterus and shedding its linings. 

Remedy: Take a cloth and some warm water. Rinse the cloth in the water and squeeze it. Put the cloth on the lower part of your belly and let the abdomen absorb the heat. Repeat this process as many times as you want. 

Bladder Inflammation

Bladder inflammation causes pain to a lot of women but, the reason for this to happen is yet unknown. Doctors do not have a proper explanation to justify the inflammation in the bladder. 

Bladder inflammation leading to Pelvic Pain includes symptoms such as Painful urination, painful intimate intercourse, and frequent need to urinate. 

Sexually Transmitted Infection(STI)

Intimate intercourse can sometimes establish infection and it will gradually cause you pain in your abdomen. Medically it is termed as Sexually Transmitted Infection(STI). This infection is common to people who are sexually active. Consult a doctor as soon as possible.

Ovulation

Every woman in the world ovulates. If you are experiencing any kind of painful sensation during the time of your menstrual cycle, it means that you are having a painful ovulation. You might feel this pain on any side of your pelvis. This pain or discomfort takes place when the ovaries release an egg with some fluid. 

This fluid spreads all over your pelvic area and creates irritating. The lasting of the pain differs every time of your menstrual cycle. It can last for minutes to hours and can also switch sides. 

Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a disorder where the tissues that are mandated to grow inside the uterus start to expand or grow outside of the uterus. This is when it creates pelvic pain.

Endometriosis might also trigger complications during your pregnancy or even to conceive. It creates hormonal change or disbalance in your body and leads to bleeding and inflammation.

Appendicitis

Pubic Symphysis Dysfunction

Your pelvis bones are held together and are secured by Pubic Symphysis Joint. It works as a safeguard during any activity. If this joint dislocates or loosens up, it will result in pain. This may lead to a clicking sound while you walk. 

You will feel the painful sensation starting from your abdomen running down through your thighs. Pubic Symphysis Dysfunction largely happens to pregnant women. Along with pregnancy, this dysfunction can occur due to the following reasons:

  • deficiency of vitamins and minerals namely vitamin D or calcium.
  • Accident or Injury
  • Arthritis 

Osteitis Pubis

This is pretty much similar to Pubic Symphysis Dysfunction. But instead of bone, Osteitis Pubis attacks the tissues surrounding the pelvis. 

Osteitis Pubis is rare in con man but is common in professional athletes. The players who perform intense workouts daily, generally suffer from osteitis pubis. 

Pelvic Muscle Pain

Pelvic muscle pain is mostly experienced by women above the age of  30 or more. Childbirth can also be a factor of pelvic pain when walking.

Things To Avoid

If you are already suffering from Pelvic Pain when walking, here are a few things you should avoid. This pain gets worse if you continue to do so. Hence, avoid

  • Long walks or run
  • Intense workouts
  • Lifting heavy things
  • Cycling
  • Standing up for a long time

Tips To Stay Away From Pelvic Pain In Female

Whatever the cause may be, pelvic pain is very severe and sometimes intolerable. Prevent yourself from this tremendous pain by the following tips:

  • If not exercise, at least do some stretches. Stretch your whole body right in the morning, and you will feel free and active for the whole day.
  • Do you drink enough water? If not, then start drinking. Drink the required amount of water daily. Minimum of 2 to 3 liters of water every day. It is best if you drink lukewarm water but avoid chilled water. 
  • Add more fibers to your diet. A healthy diet equals a healthy body. 
  • Do regular checkups. 
  • Take rest. Rest is an important aspect of your health as well.

Doctors are there to help you out. If there is mild pain, then you need not worry. But if there is severe and constant pain, we would suggest you to immediately seek help from your doctor. You might also experience nausea, fever, vomiting, and other such anxiety or discomfort.
