Bollywood's youth icon and mental health ambassador, Deepika Padukone, has made her fans proud again. On May 12, this 36-year-old star made history by adding another feature to her hat. The French luxury house Louis Vuitton announced this Indian actress's name as its new brand ambassador. The actor will also star in Vogue Magazine in May. The Gehraiyaan and Padmavat star shared this news with her fans worldwide on her Instagram platform.
In a Press Release, the French luxury brand made it clear, "Following a strong collaborative relationship with the Maison... the award-winning actress begins an exciting new chapter of her journey with Louis Vuitton." Padukone has previously modeled for Louis Vuitton and has been photographed wearing the brand's apparel and bags. In 2020, she became the first Indian actor to feature in the brand's campaign when she posed for a faux book cover alongside Lea Seydoux and Sophie Turner.
On May 12, Deepika Padukone attended the Louis Vuitton 2023 Cruise Show in San Diego, California. As she walked the red carpet, the actress donned a massive jacket and carried the much-discussed LV purse on her shoulder. In tan brown knee-high boots with a top knot, Deepika looks stunning and elegant.
The award-winning actress enters an exciting new phase in her journey with Louis Vuitton as the House Ambassador, following a strong collaborative partnership with the Maison, which included an appearance in Nicolas Ghesquiere's novel-inspired Pre-Fall 2020 campaign.
Along with Deepika Padukone, Emma Stone, an Oscar winner and Zhou Dongyu, a cornerstone of contemporary Chinese cinema, feature in the campaign. She was recently appointed to an 8 committee jury at the 75th Cannes Film Festival, which will be presided over by French actor Vincent Lindon. She was also honored with the first Time 100 Impact Awards for raising mental health awareness. Padukone is frequently photographed wearing Louis Vuitton clothing and luggage, and she has previously posed for the brand. When she appeared for a faux book cover with celebs like Lea Seydoux and Sophie Turner in 2020, she became the first Indian actor to appear in the brand's campaign.
In an interview with fashion magazine Vogue India, she said, "When you're 18 and have just started earning, you don't even bother looking into a Louis Vuitton store when you walk past it because you know you're never going to be able to afford it. There are some things that are aspirational, and then there are some things that are just completely out of your orbit. My association with Louis Vuitton is the latter. I'm a very practical, pragmatic person in reality, but I keep having to pinch myself because I can't believe this is real. And it speaks to the kind of diversity I hope to see in the future."
As soon as the announcement was made, and within seconds, millions of her fans congratulated her. Her actor husband Ranveer Singh also dropped a cute remark, 'Serious flex, baby'. Ranveer Singh's hilarious reaction came as, "I'm so pleased I needed to get away right into a dance. I used to be like, 'waah yaar; folks need you to be the one who decides which is the higher movie.' That is large." He again joked and said, "I imply I believed to myself 'yaar, mere Kabhi quantity aayega kya. Mujhe kabhi bithayenge kya jury-vury pe? Nobody has ever invited me, on any jury, that you just resolve whose efficiency was higher." Then he added with his beautiful smile and brimming joy for his wife, "wow, that is simply too superb.' I'm very pleased with every little thing that she achieves. Each time, I'm her designated cheerleader. Whether or not it is Time journal, or it is Cannes, or she does stuff that's simply unprecedented for mainstream main girls from Indian cinema. And he or she's forging her personal path in that sense, and that is one thing to be extraordinarily pleased with as her accomplice. Deepika was nominated for Best Actress in Film Om Shanti Om. Ram Leela and Piku also gave her recognition. This talented actress also hailed in Hollywood for her debut movie 'XXX: Return of Xander Cage', co-starred with Vin Diesel.
